FISHING REPORT: March 2, 2010 Some really nice wild steelhead are moving through. Don't expect more than a hook up or two though. The dry fly fishing for brown trout can be awesome! Look for a calm cloudy day and bring your 5wt, 4X leaders and #12 D&D Cripples. Water conditions are perfect. The Trinity experience is perfect at this time of year. Makes me wonder why anyone goes in November/December/January. |

I expect this river to fish well into March. Actually, this river offers great fishing all year long. Most of my guests are interested in the superb winter steelhead fishing this river offers. Some years the fishing tappers off in March and I return to the Sac. We will see. I think we will be experiencing great steelhead fishing through all of March this year becuase recent years have shown a noticable improvement on the numbers of wild/natural fish released during March. And not just in my boat. |
